Scenario Games   Yusaka Imanura [S01]

  • 4 players
  • 1 animator
  • 1 table
  • 4 chairs
  • 1 beansite

Rules of the game: Choose a miniscenario in one beansite. The animator indicates an overall intention for the game, accompaigns it by comments and adjustments. The game is played in rounds following the narrative structure of EOTM represented by the four players. They are experts from different fields, actors and agents from Tokyo and representatives of interest groups or institutions, having all different backgrounds and interests. Based on the initial miniscenario each player inserts an action into the scenario by formulating it in one sentence. That action responds to the unfolding of the game on the one hand and contains the intentions of the player on the other hand. Each player can insert his or her prototype in the game and play out the role of actors and agents with their operational fields in order to test their adaptability. The animator stops the scenario.

The scenario game is a constant negotiation process simulating possible realities in existing urban environments. Tokyo Story emerges as an interactive communication between players in Tokyo, London and Amsterdam.
