Branding 'What do we do with the tower block?' The problem of the tower block has been recognized by the government and local authorities as one and led to the creation of various housing associations. The failure of the tower block typology to encourage social interactions within the block, the resulted alienation, vandalism and hostility towards council property and the high maintenance costs are the key issues that have promoted the term 'sink down estates'. Where it is possible and land is available these towers are being taken down and replaced by low-rise housing. Is that the only way, erasure and new construction? And what do you do with inner city estates where land for low-rise construction is not available? How do the residents of these towers feel when they can see neighboring towers taken down? A new kind of involvement with the residents will be achieved only when council sponsored projects depart from their city hall location and enters the estate. Direct presence within the everyday life of residents will enable the council to reach a much wider range of individuals and to cover the whole spectrum of the problems they encounter. The introduction of other types of programs into the tower and the creation of various forms of public spaces will enable the residents to rise above the hardships of reality in the tower and will free the estate of the overpowering social stigmas that are attached to it. ARE YOU TIRED of constantly waiting? Of being dependent on one travel system together with the other 386 residents? Do you know them at all? Do you want your clients at your doorstep?
