DESCRIPTION
Despite pledging to cut our Green House Gas Emissions (especially CO2) the UK & EU’s emissions generated by Transport are continuing to grow rapidly. The EU CO2 emissions from road transport are now over 950 Mega Tonnes CO2 per year. Between 1990 and 2004 because of the downward trend of limiting emissions the transport sector has effectivly become more important, going from 21% of total emissions to 28% by 2004.

RESEARCH AGENDA
How can we limit the growth of emissions in the transport sector with out removing our current freedoms of movement & supplies?
What systems can be used to encourage use of public rather than private transport systems - as these are more efficient?
What technologies can be used to reduce emissions from our current transport vehicles?
